Home Screens - Eric Tolle

This is the 15th post in a series called Home Screens. David Sparks over at MacSparky has been doing this for a long time and I thought it would be interesting to ask my friends, family, and former co-workers what is on their Home Screens!

Eric Tolle works for Cigna Behavioral Health as a Care Coordinator on the National Authorization Team. He performs clinical reviews to determine medical necessity for various levels of care. His interests include sports and video games. Eric enjoys playing basketball, flag football, or fantsy football in his free time. You can be follow @EricTolle on Twitter.

What are your most interesting home screen apps?

My home screen is mostly filled with functional apps that make my day to day life a little easier. The most interesting is probably my sleep cycle alarm clock. You input the time you would like to wake up and lay your iPhone on your bed while you sleep. It tracks you sleep cycles based on your movement. Then when it detects you are in the lightest phase of sleep and closest to your preferred wake up time, then the alarm goes off. It took some getting use to, but I do wake up feeling more awake.

What is your favorite app?

My favorite app right now is Gymboss. It is assists with interval training. I use it for the Spartacus workout as a change of pace to normal weight lifting. It also keeps me on track in the weight room so I don't spend too much time resting. That way I'm able to get in and out of the gym in a timely manner.

Which app is your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure app would have to be the game Valor. It is a little similiar to Age of the Empires, but a little slower and more simple. You build a civilization with an army and then you can invade other player's city and eventually conquer them.

What is the app you are still missing?

I need something to help manage my finances. I have heard that Mint is pretty good and I have downloaded it, but have not started using it.

How many times a day do you use your iPhone?

I use my iPhone pretty frequently for texting, tweeting, and making phone calls. Other than basic phone functions I use it several times throughout the day.

What is your favorite feature of the iPhone?

This really isn't a feature, but my case looks like the original Gameboy. It looks great and I love it.

If you were in charge at Apple, what would you add or change?

I would make it water proof/resisitant. It would be nice to use it pool side or in a hot tub. I'm always worried about tripping the water sensors. It would be nice if that was no longer a concern. There are probably some people out there who wish they could have it in the shower so they wouldn't have to wait to respond to a text, email, or update.
