This is the 14th post in a series called 30 Second Tips. My goal is to show you how to do some neat stuff in 30 seconds or less!
The Mail app on iPads and iPhones has a technology built in called Data Detectors. It will magically sense addresses, phone numbers, dates, and even tracking numbers. When you tap on a Data Detector it will give you options on what to do with the data.
Dates
When you tap on a date you are given the option to Show in Calendar to see if you are available at that time or Create Event.
If you tap on Create Event it will give you the ability to edit the details of the event before adding it to your calender.
Note: It will name the event based on the Subject line of the email. You can modify this if you want.
Contact Info
You can tap on a physical address, an email address, or a phone number to add information to your Contacts app.
Once you tap on the contact info you are given the choice to Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact.
Tracking Numbers
If you receive an email with a tracking number Mail will allow you to tap on it and you will be taken to the appropriate website to track your package.
If you or someone you know needs help getting the most out of technology please contact me!
